After almost 25 years in Actona Company A/S, CEO, Torben Skov Villadsen, has chosen to resign. Current CEO of Flügger Group, Jimmi Mortensen, will become new CEO
“For a long time I have wanted to get more free time in my calendar and challenge myself in a new way. Actona is run by a good and strong team, which creates fantastic results, and therefore I feel that this is the right time to pass on the baton”.
This is how 49 year old Torben Skov Villadsen explains his decision to resign as CEO of Actona after having been with the company for almost 25 years.
During Torben Skov Villadsen's time at Actona Company A/S, the company has grown from 20 to 1,400 employees, but Torben Skov Villadsen still believes that there is plenty of potential for further growth.
“Actona Company is a world-class company. It is a team of loyal, committed and ambitious people. A company that, together with fantastic customers and highly competent subcontractors, makes it possible to create and deliver cool furniture designs in good quality and at a price that makes it possible for most people to buy them,” says Torben Skov Villadsen.
Good cooperationHe also highlights the collaboration with the employees of Lars Larsen Group, which became the main shareholder in Actona Company in 2016.
“I have been extremely happy with the trust and support that our board has shown us since Lars Larsen Group became majority owner. Actona Company has great opportunities for further development, and I am pleased that Lars Larsen Group, both through words and actions, shows a willingness to realize the great potential,” says Torben Skov Villadsen.
Personally, he looks forward to having more time for his other interests
“First and foremost, I look forward to spending more time with my lovely wife Birgit. In addition, I will spend time developing the companies I already co-own today. Maybe I will also find new exciting opportunities where I can contribute to a positive development”, says Torben Skov Villadsen.
Great opportunitiesChairman of the Board of Actona Company and CEO of Lars Larsen Group, Jesper Lund, thank Torben Skov Villadsen for great collaboration and for the way in which Torben Skov Villadsen choose to resign.
"Torben shared his thoughts that he would like to leave Actona many months ago. But when the corona crisis became global, Torben promised to stay and do his very best to steer Actona well through the crisis. It shows everything about Torben's values and dedication to the company,” says Jesper Lund.
This also means that Lars Larsen Group has had plenty of time to find the right replacement.
It will be the current CEO of Flügger Group, Jimmi Mortensen.
"I am really happy that Jimmi Mortensen has chosen to say yes to the challenge as the new CEO of Actona Company. Just two days ago, we were able to announce a new record profit for Actona Company, so Jimmi takes over the responsibility of a profitable and well-run company with plenty of opportunities for continued growth,” says Jesper Lund.
Jimmi Mortensen will take over the position as CEO of Actona Company no later than 1 April 2021.
