JYSK and Lars Larsen Group donate DKK 1 mio. to the fight against cancer

When the Danish Cancer Association hosts the national fundraising show “Knæk Cancer” (Beat Cancer) for the 13th year in a row, JYSK and Lars Larsen Group will once again donate DKK 1 mio. to the cause.

Although advances in research continue to improve cancer survival rates, the need for further research and a greater understanding of the disease remains urgent. Because according to the Danish Cancer Association, one in three Danes is diagnosed with cancer before the age of 75 and every day, 43 people die from the disease.

“Cancer affects nearly all of us in some way – whether it is someone close to us, ourselves, or a colleague – and we are all aware of the severity of the disease and the impact it has on both patients and their loved ones. Cancer does not discriminate and works in unfair ways. That is why we are proud to continue supporting Knæk Cancer, contributing to vital research efforts and standing with those battling cancer,” says President and CEO of Lars Larsen Group, Jesper Lund.

Over the past years, the Knæk Cancer fundraising event has helped support 506 projects focused on research, prevention, and patient care. In 2024, the Danish Cancer Association will direct donations towards the following six key areas:

  • The Children's Cancer Foundation
  • Biological, psychosocial, clinical, and epidemiological cancer research
  • Late effects
  • Multiple illnesses and mental health issues
  • Better detection and treatment of cancer
  • The elderly and cancer
